Corrosion in Oil and Gas Sector
Dr. Anil Bhardwaj has 42 years’ experience in upstream oil and gas industry. He superannuated as Group General Manager and Head of the Materials & Corrosion Section, IEOT, ONGC after 35 years of distinguished service. He executed, coordinated and supervised over 200 projects covering material selection, failure analysis, paints and coatings, MIC, cathodic protection, corrosion monitoring, and audits. Dr. Bhardwaj has published/presented more than 125 papers and edited three key books: Internal Corrosion of Pipelines, Corrosion Case Studies, and Learning from Failure Case Studies.
He authored chapters in Trends in Oil and Gas Corrosion Research and Technologies (Elsevier) and Corrosion Inhibitors in the Oil and Gas Industry. A co-inventor of nine patents in US, Canada and India, he continues to contribute as faculty in corrosion courses run by AMPP India Section. His honours include Fellow AMPP in 2021, NIGIS Meritorious Contribution Award (2016), NCCI Meritorious Contribution Award (2016), and Corrosion Awareness Award (2000), recognizing his outstanding impact on corrosion management in India.
